Jsou to 3 dioptrie, tedy optická mohutnost čočky — nemá to nic společného s prostorovým viděním. Dioptrie se na zvětšení přepočítají tak, že se vydělí čtyřmi a přičte jednička: 3 dioptrie tedy odpovídají zvětšení 1,75×, které je uvedeno v názvu.

Na dlouhou práci je to spíš výhoda. Vysoké zvětšení zkracuje pracovní vzdálenost — pod čočku se sotva vejde ruka s nástrojem a oči i hlava to rychle odnesou. Mírné zvětšení s velkou čočkou vám nechá místo na práci a vydržíte u něj hodiny. Na krátkou kontrolu extrémního detailu je lepší silnější lupa, na stavbu tahle.

Odstraňuje stín od vlastní ruky. Světlo ze stropu nebo z boku dopadá tak, že si stínem zakryjete přesně to místo, na které se díváte. Prstenec LED kolem čočky svítí ve stejné ose jako pohled, takže je pracovní místo osvětlené rovnoměrně a bez stínu.

Rameno se uchycuje šroubovací svorkou k desce stolu, takže nezabírá pracovní plochu a lupu si natočíte nad rozdělaný model.
