1/35 WWII German Army Shelter Tent 2

Js Work WWII German Army Shelter Tent 2 (1:35)

This is a diorama accessory, not a kit of a vehicle. The set represents a German army field shelter tent from the Second World War in 1:35 scale and serves as a scenic element in dioramas and vignettes. It fills out a field camp, a dressing station or a rest scene behind the front. The manufacturer is Js Work, a brand focused on diorama accessories. The number 2 in the name distinguishes this tent from another version in the range.

The real subject

Field tents and shelters were standard equipment in the armies of the Second World War — they served as quarters for the men, command posts, stores and improvised dressing stations. In a diorama they fill in the everyday side of field life and give the scene both scale and a story.

Building and painting tips

Choose the glue according to the material of the parts — cyanoacrylate for resin, plastic cement for styrene. The canvas of the tent comes alive from an earthy base shade; bring out the transitions and folds with a darker wash and a dry brush. Dust and mud at the foot of the tent are best done with fine pigments, and the scene immediately looks lived in.
