The twelfth issue of the AEROmodel series from Jakab Publishing, devoted to a pair of Czechoslovak interwar aircraft, the Avia BH-21 and the Letov S-16.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avia BH-21 was a single-seat fighter biplane of the 1920s. The letters in its designation carry the initials of the designers Pavel Benes and Miroslav Hajn, who stood behind the whole early family of Avia machines. The Letov S-16 was a considerably larger two-seat biplane by comparison, used for observation and as a light bomber. Both belong to the time when the domestic aircraft industry was still building its name, and they are rarely met with in a display case.
The AEROmodel series from Jakab Publishing comes out as numbered issues; this is number twelve and it is devoted to exactly that pair, the Avia BH-21 and the Letov S-16. The extent of the issue and its contents are given by the publisher.
Interwar biplanes have their charm and their pitfalls. The bracing wires between the wings, the fabric covering with its stitched ribs and the prominent national insignia all show on them, so even a small model can hold the eye. At the same time these are machines for which source material is harder to come by than for aircraft of later decades, and any comprehensive treatment therefore saves a great deal of searching. For a modeler building on the theme of the domestic air force between the wars, such a pair in a display case is a logical match.
A plastic model kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
