AMT-11 Blue Grey 17 ml.

Real Colors RC977 AMT-11 Blue Grey, 17 ml

A modeling acrylic paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, listed under the manufacturer's part number RC977. The bottle holds 17 ml. The shade is a blue-gray with the designation AMT-11. The abbreviation AMT belongs to the Soviet matte aircraft lacquers of the Second World War period and the number after it fixes the particular tone.

Where you will use the shade

The blue-gray appears on Soviet aircraft on the upper surfaces, where a darker gray tone accompanies it; together they form the two-color division of the fuselage and wings. The dark gray AMT-12 is listed by the same range under the number RC978, so both colors of the scheme can be obtained at once. On its own the blue-gray serves as a calm tone on accessories and as a base for grading further grays.

How to work with the paint

• Stir the contents thoroughly before taking any out; the pigment settles at the bottom and without stirring the shade is off.
• Apply it in several thin coats and let them dry in between; one heavy coat floods the engraved surface detail.
• Two related grays next to each other merge easily, so mark out the boundary of the fields beforehand and check the difference in daylight.
• For thinning and for cleaning, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Try the shade beforehand on a piece of scrap plastic, not straight on the model.
• Close the bottle carefully after work; open paint thickens.

Storage and packaging

Store the paint in a closed bottle away from heat and frost. Paint that has thickened can be thinned, but check the final tone on a test sample.

The package contains one bottle of paint of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
