Cobalt Blue 17 ml is a water-based acrylic paint from the metallic section of the AK interactive 3rd Generation line, a blue shade with a metallic pigment.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cobalt Blue is placed in the metallic block of the 3rd Generation line, that is among the shades with a metallic pigment. The bottle holds 17 ml of water-based acrylic paint that can be thinned with water or with acrylic thinner. It is not a lacquer, so it cannot be mixed or thinned with lacquer or enamel thinners.
With colored metallic paints the combination of base and coat thickness decides the result. Over a gloss black base the shade comes out dark and saturated; over a silver base it will be more brilliant and will look more like painted metal. Try both on a piece of scrap plastic before you touch the model. Let the metallic coat cure properly before you go over it with a clear coat, and put the clear coat on in thin layers, because a heavy application swallows the metal sheen. As for weathering, a dark wash will indeed bring the detail out, but it also mutes the metal effect, so go easy with it on metallic areas.
Colored metallic paints are at home on motorcycles and cars, on modern vehicles, on science fiction and fantasy models or on accessories and figures where color-anodized or painted metal should show. An airbrush suits large areas better; a brush is for details.
Keep out of the reach of children and close the bottle well after use. When airbrushing, ventilate and protect your airways, as the fine metallic pigment should not be inhaled.
