A model of the German light half-track radio and command vehicle Sd.Kfz. 250/3 Ausf. A in the large 1:16 scale from the German maker Das Werk. According to the manufacturer it contains workable tracks, a full interior with the engine (openable hatches) and radios, two figures (the driver and Field Marshal Rommel) and five color schemes. A kit to be glued and painted.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a German light armored half-track carrier of the Second World War; the /3 version was the radio and command variant with a powerful radio set for commanders and forward positions. Erwin Rommel used an Sd.Kfz. 250/3 as his command vehicle in North Africa under the name Greif — a well-documented history to which the model refers. The Ausf. A, known as the Alte, had a more complex multi-faceted hull.
Build the model in subassemblies; paint and assemble the interior and the running gear before closing up the hull. After a primer coat, paint with an airbrush and use washes and pigments to bring out the detail (mud and dust effects). Dry-fit the parts, apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
