This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Chinese YW-701A armored command and control vehicle in a form tied to the Gulf War. The model in 1:35 scale from Bronco is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted kit meant for gluing and finishing.
The YW-701A was a command and signals derivative of the Chinese YW-531 series of armored personnel carriers. A raised rear section of the hull gave room to the commander and his staff, and the vehicle carried radio sets for directing units at battalion level and above. Vehicles of this type were committed by foreign armies as well during the Gulf War.
With command vehicles we recommend paying attention to the antennas and the signals equipment and assembling the running gear before closing the hull. Thin cement for plastic, a base primer and an airbrush have proved themselves. The look will be brought to life by washes into the recesses and pigments for dust effects.
