Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic kit of the American Gato class submarine in her 1943 configuration, in 1:350 scale from the Taiwanese brand AFV Club. The model can be built either as a full hull or as a waterline version. The kit offers a well worked-out pressure hull, diving planes in the raised or the lowered position and photo-etched parts for the fine details. The 1943 configuration corresponds to the later wartime arrangement of the conning tower and the armament. For the exact contents, follow the information on the package.
The Gato class was among the most successful submarines of the Second World War and formed the core of the US Navy submarine force in the Pacific. These long-range fleet submarines waged a relentless war against Japanese merchant shipping. During the war they sent hundreds of thousands of tons of enemy shipping to the bottom. The configuration changed during the war, above all by cutting down the conning tower and adding anti-aircraft weapons.
Decide in advance whether you are building a full hull or a waterline version. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. Spray the hull with an airbrush and pick out the decks with a dark wash. The model comes into its own on a display base or in a waterline diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
