About product

Aber photo-etched ship railing 1:350 (photo-etched metal set)

This product is neither a kit nor a finished model but a photo-etched metal set intended for detailing finished ship models. It replaces thick plastic railings, or railings missing altogether, with fine etched strips that give the decks the fidelity to scale that plastic parts cannot offer.

What the set is for

The universal railing is fitted along the edges of decks and superstructures. Etched metal is thin and yet strong, so realistic stanchions and horizontal lines are produced. The set is suitable for ship models in 1:350 scale.

Usage tips

The railing is separated from the fret with a sharp knife, measured to length and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in small drops. Before painting it is advisable to degrease the metal and spray it with a primer for metal so that the finish holds well. Thin glue and a steady hand with tweezers prove their worth.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building detailed ship models in 1:350
  • Advanced builders used to working with photo-etch
  • Anyone interested in realistic decks and superstructures

It is supplied as a separate photo-etched accessory. Glue, paints and the target model are not included in the package.
