An orange acrylic paint for modelers, thinnable with water and ready to be sprayed with a gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
Orange never appeared on machinery by accident. Trainers wore it so that they could be seen from as far away as possible in the air and on an airfield; it marked rescue equipment, target drogues, fire and rescue vehicles, road machinery and the dangerous parts of machines. In a scene it therefore works as a fixed point: a small area is enough and the viewer's eye goes exactly where the modeler wanted. In the 1920s and 1930s it was among the recognition features of record-breaking and racing machines, and later it became the color of safety.
The surest way to a saturated tone is over a light base, otherwise the color stays muddy. On a finished model it is then worth recalling that orange of all colors fades fastest in the sun: a slight lightening of the upper surfaces and a grayed cast on the edges turn new paint into the shade of a machine that has a season outdoors behind it. Lay the last coat on more lightly, so that the surface does not thicken and lose its definition.
This is a water-thinnable acrylic; anyone who wants a finer spray reaches for the thinner from the same range. Shake the contents of the bottle thoroughly before work and reckon with an airbrush, for which the whole range is prepared.
A cleaner from the same range is available for cleaning a gun and brushes, and it copes even with residues that have begun to set. The strong pigment clings stubbornly in the needle, though, so take the gun apart and rinse it after spraying before you move on to a lighter shade. Wipe the residues in the cap away while they are still wet, otherwise they will dry onto the thread.
