Terrains Asphalt 250 ml, a texture paste for asphalt

A product from the terrain range of AK interactive intended for creating an asphalt surface. The volume of 250 ml is stated in the name itself. The paste is applied directly onto a base and once dry it forms a continuous surface with a texture of its own, so a road does not have to be built up from paper or scribed into plastic. The shade usually darkens once dry, so judge the result only on a dry surface.

Use

• roads, ramps and airfield apron areas on dioramas
• bases under a model where you want a flat but not sterile surface
• patching and joining asphalt to the surrounding terrain or to paving
• apply it with a spatula or an old brush, and a thicker layer rather in several passes
• once dry, fine-tune the surface with pigments, a muted wash and a lighter dry brush along the tracks

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas and display scenes who want a road surface quickly and without modeling it from filler. Asphalt in reality is not a uniform black area, so once it has dried it pays to suggest worn tracks, oil stains, cracks and lighter edges. For the transition to the surrounding terrain other products of the same range serve well, concrete or dry earth for instance.
