The Huey in Vietnam - America’s UH-1 at War (English Edition)

The Huey in Vietnam (English edition)

A publication, not a kit: there are no parts and no paints in the package. The book is issued in English and, by its title, concentrates on the UH-1 helicopter in the setting of the Vietnam War, that is the conflict in which this machine became the most widespread and most characteristic helicopter of its kind. For modelers it is a subject with great visual potential, because the machines in this service carried a range of armament configurations as well as striking wear.

What to expect from the book

• The subject of the UH-1 and its use in the Vietnam War
• An English edition
• A book, not a model: it contains no parts, paints or decals
• The extent, the division and the ratio of text to images are not stated here

Why the subject is interesting for modelers

The UH-1 is a single-engine helicopter with a characteristic two-blade main rotor, and a whole series of modifications became established on it in service: various door armament variants, different cabin arrangements according to the task, seats, pylons and skid landing gear with wear according to the terrain. A modeler building a Huey deals mainly with two things, the open interior, which is visible on this type through the wide doors, and convincing surface wear. A publication focused on one specific deployment helps with exactly these decisions, because it shows the machines in their real operational state.

Who the book is for

For helicopter modelers and builders of aviation dioramas who read English and are looking for pictorial and factual support for building a UH-1. Collectors of helicopter literature will also find it useful, as will modelers preparing a scene around a model who need to know what the surroundings and the equipment of the machines in service looked like.

A publication in English. The number of pages, the division into chapters and the extent of the pictorial part are not stated here.
