Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the French SPAD VII fighter biplane in the unusual 1:40 scale from Smer. The model captures one of the most successful fighters of the First World War and comes as injection-molded plastic with a decal sheet. Because of the biplane layout, rigging between the wings is part of the build.
The SPAD VII was a French single-seat fighter biplane used from 1916. It stood out for its rugged structure, its good speed in a dive and its reliable engine, which made it a favorite machine of a number of Allied aces. It flew with the French and other air forces and pointed the way to the later, more powerful types from the same maker.
The most demanding step is the rigging between the wings, which looks best made from thin thread stretched into place after painting. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the fuselage joints back. Paint the lower wing and the fuselage first, then assemble the upper wing on its struts. Linen and camouflage shades with restrained weathering suit a subject of this period.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
