Clear Prop Models 1:72 Mitsubishi A5M Claude (early version): brass antennas. Cast metal antenna masts that replace a fragile plastic part with durable, scale-faithful metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast brass antenna masts from the Ukrainian manufacturer Clear Prop Models, intended for models of the Japanese Mitsubishi A5M fighter in its early form in 1:72 scale. The metal part holds a scale-fine profile of the kind injection-molded plastic reaches only with difficulty, and unlike plastic it will not bend or break during handling, masking or transport of the model.
The Mitsubishi A5M, Claude in the Allied reporting system, was the first production carrier monoplane fighter of Japanese naval aviation. This all-metal low-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear and an open cockpit proved itself in the second half of the 1930s in the fighting over China and prepared the ground for its more famous successor, the A6M Zero.
Remove the original plastic antenna, level the seating point and glue the metal mast on with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the part before painting and use a base coat with good adhesion to metals so that the paint holds reliably. Work on the small parts with tweezers over a light-colored surface so that they do not get lost. At the end, even the finished part out with the rest of the model under a final flat clear coat.
This is an add-on set: the model of the aircraft itself is not included in the package.
