An injection-molded plastic kit of the unusual experimental Nemeth Parasol aircraft with a circular wing in 1:72 scale from Avis. It is a short-run mold made for more experienced modelers; the box contains plastic parts, clear elements and decals. The circular wing is held above the fuselage by a set of struts.
The Nemeth Parasol was an American experimental aircraft of the first half of the 1930s, famous for its perfectly circular lifting wing. The design was meant to demonstrate short takeoff and landing capability and easy handling; a single example was built, which became an icon of the era of aviation experiments.
Short-run molds call for careful cleaning up of the parts and dry test-fitting. The key point is the precise alignment of the struts between the fuselage and the circular wing, for which a simple jig will help. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and small joints with cyanoacrylate glue if needed. Apply primer before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
