This self-adhesive painting mask in 1:700 scale makes it possible to spray the German flag accurately onto the deck of a model of the battleship Bismarck. It is not a decal and not a part of the ship, but a masking template thanks to which the flag merges with the painted surface of the deck and looks more realistic than a decal stuck on top. Intended for models of the battleship Bismarck; the kit itself is not included in the package.
Kriegsmarine battleships carried large flag identification markings on deck for recognition from the air. The mask divides the motif into individual color areas that are sprayed one after another, so that a sharp, flat flag is created with none of the transitions and bubbles typical of decals over large areas.
First spray the deck with the base color, and once it is dry apply the mask and spray the individual shades according to the instructions, from the lightest to the darkest. Peel the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, so that the edges stay sharp. Work with thin coats so that paint does not creep under the film.
