A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not an airplane model but a set of replacement wheels for 1:48 models of the fifth-generation F-22A Raptor fighter. The cast wheels offer fine detail of the tread and the hubs that is unattainable in injection-molded plastic.
The wheels are among the most exposed parts of the landing gear. The resin rendering faithfully captures the tread pattern and the structure of the hub and is usually cast with a hint of weight, so the tire sits realistically flattened on the ground. That gives a Raptor on its wheels a convincing sense of mass.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires in a matte rubber black, shade the hubs and dust them lightly with pigments for a look of use on the runway.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. It requires a matching base model, which is not included in the package. Glue and paints are not enclosed.
