An aftermarket set of fine photo-etched parts from HAD Models for 1:48 scale. It reproduces the patches and insignia for the crews of F-14A Tomcat fighters in three American naval squadrons: VF-1 Wolfpack, VF-84 Jolly Rogers and VF-111 Sundowners. It is not a kit and not aircraft parts, but a detail accessory for finishing off figures and crew scenes.
The etched patches serve to raise the realism of figures of pilots and weapons systems officers, or of accessories on a diorama, where these small markings would otherwise be hard to carry out. The squadron badges and insignia are etched in thin sheet which, once painted, imitates cloth patches faithfully.
Separate the small etched parts from the fret carefully, attach them with super glue or a thin layer of PVA glue and paint them with a brush. Bring the fine detail out with drybrushing or a light wash.
This is an accessory. The figures themselves, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
