An injection-molded plastic model of the French Amiot 143 heavy bomber in 1:72 scale from Smer. It is an older generation of mold with a simpler surface, typical of traditional plastic kits. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and the markings offered, go by the enclosed instructions and the information on the box.
The Amiot 143 was a French twin-engine heavy bomber of the 1930s, unmistakable for its angular, almost boxy fuselage, its high-set wing, its fixed landing gear and its large glazed positions. It was created to meet interwar requirements for night bombing and long-range reconnaissance. It served with the French Air Force from the middle of the 1930s and at the start of the Second World War it flew mainly night bombing missions; in daylight use it was very vulnerable because of its low speed.
With an older mold, first clean off the flash and check the fit of the large fuselage and wing parts; the angular shape is set off by clean, square edges, so fill and sand the seams carefully. Glue with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray the covering coat with an airbrush using thinned paints. Mask the extensive glazing before spraying; a fine wash and drybrushing will bring the panels and the riveting to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
