An injection-molded plastic kit of the twin-engine bomber Petlyakov Pe-2 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer UM (Unimodel). The package covers injection-molded plastic parts, clear glazing parts and a decal sheet with markings for machines operated by the Finnish Air Force. The exact make-up of the contents is described in the enclosed instructions.
The Pe-2 was a Soviet twin-engine dive bomber and one of the most numerous bombers of its era. It stood out for good performance and versatility, and it served in the bomber, reconnaissance and heavy fighter roles. A number of captured machines were operated in the Second World War by the Finnish Air Force as well, which fielded them in its own markings. The model captures precisely that chapter of its service.
Cut the small parts out carefully and clean up any flash with sandpaper. Paint the cockpit interior and the crew positions before closing the fuselage halves. An airbrush works well for the overall camouflage, and the small details can be picked out with a brush. Lay the decals on a smooth gloss base and finally tie everything together with a matte varnish to suit the character of the real aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
