A bag of static grass weighing 20 g. These are fine fibers which are sprinkled into a layer of glue, and an electrostatic charge stands them up square as they land. The result is growth that stands, casts a shadow and behaves to the eye like grass rather than like scatter stuck on flat.
The shade carries the name of a spring meadow, that is the fresh green of new growth at the start of the season. A fiber of 2 to 3 mm corresponds to low grass, mown or grazed. In 1:35 scale that is growth roughly 7 to 10 cm tall, in 1:87 scale approximately 17 to 26 cm. Choose where to use the grass accordingly: on a garden, on a lawn around a building, at the edge of a road and on a continuous meadow area.
Coat the area with glue for static grass or with thinned PVA glue. Stick the grounding pin of the applicator into the glue, pour the fibers into the mesh and let them fall from a height of a few centimeters. Once dry, tap the area out or vacuum it carefully; the fibers that have not stuck can be used again. Without an applicator the fibers stay lying down, which suits trodden paths and wheel tracks. Growth only looks natural once it is made up of several layers and shades, so start with a shorter, paler layer and apply the next dose only in places.
