Heki static grass in a winter shade, fibers 2 to 3 millimeters, 20 grams in the package. For the faded growth of a winter and late autumn scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A winter shade stands in for grass that is no longer green but not yet hidden under snow. Such growth is faded, flattened and sparse, and you will find it on field margins, by fences, around buildings and between the ruts of field tracks. The fibers are 2 to 3 millimeters and the package weighs 20 grams, so this is a smaller quantity suited to filling out a scene and to islands rather than to covering a large area.
Snow alone does not make winter. What makes it believable is exactly what sticks out of it: dry blades by a wall, a tuft in the lee, thinned growth on the edge of a ditch. A short fiber suits that, because in H0 scale it corresponds to roughly 17 to 26 centimeters of real grass and does not compete with the snow cover. It is rewarding to apply the grass first and only then to add the snow, so that the powder catches between the blades and part of the growth stays visible.
Coat the area with glue and apply the fibers from an electrostatic applicator, which stands them up square. With a smaller package it pays to work deliberately: hold the mesh over the place where you want a tuft and cover the surroundings with paper. Once dry, sweep the excess away with a soft brush and return it to the bag. You will support a flattened look by pressing part of the fibers to the ground with a finger once dry, especially by walls and in places where the growth would lean against an obstacle.
The package holds 20 grams of fibers 2 to 3 millimeters long. The glue, a static grass applicator, snow and surface material are not included, unless stated otherwise.
