Shade number 01 from the Email Color range from Revell is a synthetic solvent-based enamel paint (not an acrylic) in a gloss finish, packed in a 14 ml tinlet. It is a modeling paint, not a kit; the package holds no model and no parts. Unlike the other shades in the range, Clear is a clear varnish with no pigment, so it has no covering power at all: it will not repaint the base, only seal it and give it a high gloss. It is thinned with Revell Color Mix thinner or with mineral spirits, never with water. Compared with an acrylic it dries more slowly, but the reward is an extraordinarily smooth, continuous and mechanically durable film with no visible brush-stroke texture.
For modelers who build models with decals and want to bed them into the finish professionally, and for those who complete gloss car bodies. It is applied with a brush and with an airbrush; when spraying, thinning gives thin, even coats, and two thin ones are better than one heavy one, as a heavy coat tends to run. Let every coat dry thoroughly before you go on.
Note: it is a flammable solvent-based liquid. The fumes irritate the airways, so work in a well ventilated space away from open flame. When spraying with an airbrush, use protection for your airways (a respirator) and extraction. Keep out of reach of children.
