07 Black

Revell Email Color 07 Black - gloss black

Shade number 07 from the Email Color range of the manufacturer Revell is a synthetic enamel paint on a solvent base (it is not an acrylic) in a gloss finish, corresponding to the shade RAL 9005. The package holds 14 ml. It is a modeling paint, not a kit, and the package contains no model. The paint does not etch the plastic surface, covers well and once dry forms a smooth, rub-resistant film. It is thinned with Revell Color Mix thinner or mineral spirits, never with water. It dries more slowly than acrylic, which is an advantage when painting by hand, because the paint has time to level and the brush strokes disappear.

Use

• Chassis, frames and the undersides of vehicles, the classic use, where a durable and well covering enamel comes in handy.
• Tires and rubber parts, with one reservation: a pure gloss black looks unnatural on a model. Real rubber looks more like a very dark gray, so for tires it is better to lighten the black with a drop of gray or white and to knock the shine back with flat varnish.
• Preshading and shading: sprayed into panel lines and shadows before the covering paint, it creates natural depth.
• Small details: instruments, frames, exhausts, the antiglare panel in front of the cockpit, rubber seals.
• Mixing dark shades: it serves as the basis for darkening the other colors of the range (signal shades are not mixed).

Who it is for

For modelers building aircraft, military and civilian vehicles and cars who want a universal black with enamel durability. It is applied with a brush and with an airbrush, and when spraying, thin it and work in thin coats. If you want a flat or semi-gloss black, spray flat varnish over it; a gloss surface, on the other hand, is an advantage under decals.

Take care: a flammable liquid on a solvent base. The vapors irritate the airways, so work in a well ventilated space away from open flames. Use respiratory protection (a respirator) when spraying with an airbrush. Keep out of the reach of children.
