An injection molded plastic kit of the American nuclear missile submarine USS Abraham Lincoln (SSBN-602) of the George Washington class in 1:253 scale from the Revell brand. The model boasts elaborate internal equipment which allows a striking display with the hull uncovered. The package also contains clear parts for the viewing openings. Glue and paints are not part of it.
The USS Abraham Lincoln belonged to the first generation of American nuclear missile submarines of the Polaris program. As a carrier of ballistic missiles it became an important part of the naval deterrent strategy during the Cold War. The submarines of the George Washington class carried their ballistic missiles in vertical silos amidships.
Decide whether you will leave the hull closed or make use of the uncovered interior with the control room, the berths and the engine room. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and keep the movable control surfaces and the missile silos clean. Before painting apply primer, and apply the dark coat of the hull with an airbrush. Finish and paint the interior before closing the hull; run the transition between the upper and the lower color of the hull smoothly according to the real subject.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
