An extensive gift set (Model Set) with an injection-molded plastic model of the Leopard 2A6A2 tank in 1:35 scale from Revell, issued for the 70th anniversary of the German Bundeswehr. The package is not just the kit; it also contains a basic set of Revell Aqua Color paints, Contacta glue, a brush and a bound book (in German and English) with the history of the Leopard 2 and facts about it. It is therefore a complete starter package and a collector piece at the same time.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank developed in the 1970s, and thanks to continuous upgrading it is still among the most advanced tanks in the world. It carries a 120 mm smoothbore gun and is the backbone of the armored forces of a number of armies. The A6A2 form modeled here is an anniversary variant prepared specially for this edition; it draws on the real development of upgraded Leopard 2 versions with a long barrel and add-on armor.
Glue the parts with the Contacta glue supplied or with another modeling cement for plastic; align the joints of the hull and the turret and sand them if necessary. Finish the running gear and the lower areas before closing them up. The Revell Aqua Color paints supplied are thinned with water; an airbrush suits an even coat, although a brush is possible too. The modern three-tone NATO camouflage comes alive with a wash and dry-brushing on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled; paints and glue are included in the package with this set. Other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
