Photo-etched railings in 1:35 scale from the Italian brand Royal Model offer several patterns for the balconies, staircases and galleries of diorama buildings.

A set of railings in etched sheet metal from the Italian brand Royal Model. Thin metal makes it possible to create slender posts, handrails and decorative infills of a thickness no casting can reach, and it is exactly that slenderness that counts here: a heavy railing gives a model away at first glance.
The name of the set suggests that the patterns vary, so you can choose according to the character of the building. The more ornate pieces suit the balcony of a town house, the simpler ones a staircase, a terrace, a footbridge or the gallery of a factory hall. A railing also gives a scene height and divides it into levels, which anyone building a ruin, a quayside or a multistory backdrop will appreciate. Anyone working with a difference in height will also value the fact that metal keeps its shape even after painting and does not spring back.
Cut the pieces out with a sharp knife on a hard surface; never tear them out, or a burr will be left on the edge. Make the bends over a metal rule or in a bending tool, always along the etched groove. The joint is held by the tiniest amount of cyanoacrylate glue, and the more experienced will reach for a soldering iron. A primer meant for metal is essential before painting, or the paint will flake off; the finished piece will then take a wash and light rust.
Have glue and paints ready separately; they are not in the box.
