This resin set from the Italian brand Royal Model brings drinks cans in two forms: intact and crushed. The decal sheet enclosed gives the cylindrical bodies the colored labels that could not be painted by hand in this scale. It is not a kit of a vehicle but a prop with which a scene is made to look lived in.
A discarded can gives a scene both scale and a civilian dimension at once. It works in a trench, on the bed of a vehicle, beside a crew at rest, in the corner of an abandoned room and along a roadside. The crushed pieces are often more valuable than the intact ones: discarded litter looks credible only when it is not neatly arranged. A small item of this kind also serves as a gauge, because beside it a viewer immediately grasps the size of a crate or a wheel.
Spray the body of the can in an aluminum or light gray shade and smooth the surface so that the decal does not go matte. Lay the label onto a gloss coat compatible with the paint used and press it down with a softener so that it follows the curved shape. Once dry, go over it with a matte varnish and finish the whole with a weak wash that flows into the dents and to the bottom.
The set is intended to be glued and painted; paints and glue are not in the package.
