Injection-molded plastic kit of the American two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from Meng. The kit is richly equipped: it contains stainless steel photo-etched parts and pre-cut masking templates for the glazing, separate slats and flaps and folding outer carrier wings.
The F/A-18F Super Hornet is the American two-seat version of the Super Hornet carrier multirole fighter. The Super Hornet is a bigger, more modern and more capable development of the original Hornet, with more powerful engines, greater range and new systems. The two-seat F version carries a second crew member beside the pilot who operates the weapons and sensor systems, so it also suits demanding air control tasks. Super Hornets form the backbone of US Navy carrier aviation.
Assemble and paint the tandem cockpit before you close the fuselage. Use the masks supplied on the canopy glazing, so that it stays clear and the edges of the frames are sharp. The folding outer carrier wings can be shown folded or spread, and the slats and flaps can be lowered. Fit the external stores according to the scheme you choose. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue; primer, an airbrush and fine washes on the panels are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
