An injection-molded plastic kit of the German BR 18 class express steam locomotive with its tender in the railway scale 1:87 (HO) from Revell. The model is made up of a large number of fine parts and is highly detailed, which is why it is intended for more experienced modelers. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The BR 18 class was among the elegant European express steam locomotives of the Pacific wheel arrangement. It grew out of the Bavarian S 3/6 express locomotive and in service it hauled prestige passenger and express trains. It is characterized by large driving wheels and a long boiler body with a tender.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Assemble the chassis, the valve gear and the driving wheels carefully, so that the model stands level and the valve gear does not rub. For a clean result a primer and an airbrush are recommended; pick the fine valve gear and axles out with metallic shades and a discreet patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
