330 Fiery red

Revell Email Color 330 Fiery Red — Synthetic Enamel Paint, 14 ml

Shade 330 is a rich fiery red matching the RAL 3000 standard. It is a synthetic enamel (solvent-based) paint from the Revell Email Color line — not an acrylic. It does not attack the plastic surface and leaves a durable film once dry. The bottle holds 14 ml, with a satin finish.

Note: 330 versus 31 — do not mix them up

Revell's catalog has two shades named Fiery Red, and both match the same RAL 3000 color. They differ in gloss level: shade 31 is gloss, while this shade 330 is satin. The color tone is practically identical; only the resulting surface changes. Choose the gloss 31 for racing car bodies, fire equipment and surfaces where you want gloss or a base under decals; choose the satin 330 where the red should be rich but not mirror-like.

Working and thinning

Brush or airbrush; for spraying, thin with Revell Color Mix, or mineral spirits — the same product also cleans tools. Stir the paint thoroughly. Red is one of the weaker-covering shades: apply it over a light base (a white undercoat) in several thin coats, or it will come out dark and uneven. Apply the next coat after some time has passed; full curing takes about a day.
