Revell 361 Olive green is a synthetic enamel (solvent-based) paint, not an acrylic. It is supplied in a tin of 14 ml and has a silk matte (satin) degree of sheen — that comes from the Revell Email 300 series to which this shade belongs. The paint does not attack the surface of modeling plastic, it is applied with a brush and with an airbrush and it is thinned with Revell Color Mix, or with mineral spirits. It is a modeling paint, not a kit.
361 is a full olive green — warm, rich, distinctly military. It is the shade most people picture when they think of military green: the finishes of vehicles, uniforms, crates, jerrycans, tarpaulins. Compared with its sister shades, 361 is the greenest and the richest: against 362 Greyish green it is markedly cleaner and less grayed, against 363 Dark green it is lighter and warmer.
An enamel paint settles in the bottle — stir it thoroughly right down to the bottom before use. Apply two thin coats rather than one heavy one. Important: varnish the area with a gloss clear coat under decals. On a matte or silk matte surface air is trapped under the decal and the edges silver. Once the decals have dried you return to the final look you want with a matte or satin varnish.
Safety: flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. The vapors irritate the respiratory tract — work in a well-ventilated area and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children. Keep the container tightly closed.
