About product

Revell 363 Dark Green — enamel paint 14 ml

Revell 363 Dark Green is a synthetic enamel (solvent) paint, not an acrylic. It comes in a tin bottle of 14 ml and has a satin level of sheen — like the whole Revell Email 300+ line. It does not attack modeling plastic, is applied by brush and by spray gun and is thinned with Revell Color Mix, or with mineral spirits. It is a modeling paint, not a kit.

What color it is and how it differs

363 is a dark, saturated green — the darkest of the green shades in this trio. Against 361 Olive Green it is distinctly darker and cooler, and against the subdued 362 Greyish Green it is far more saturated and without the gray cast. It is the typical color of dark camouflage fields: where a scheme combines a lighter and a darker green area, it is usually 363 that provides the dark contrast. Thanks to the depth of the shade it also works well as a color for vegetation.

Use

  • Dark camouflage areas on the upper surfaces of aircraft and on military vehicles.
  • Finishes on tanks and armored vehicles — the dark component of a two or three tone scheme.
  • Vegetation in dioramas — bushes, trees, foliage, camouflage netting and branches.
  • Contrasting areas against lighter green shades (combined with 361 or 362).

Application tips

Stir enamel paint thoroughly right down to the bottom of the bottle. Dark shades tend to flood fine detail — so apply two or three thin coats rather than one heavy one. For camouflage transitions an airbrush with thinned paint at low pressure works well; the hard edges of a scheme can be managed with a template or masking tape. Give the area a gloss clear coat before decals — on a satin or matte surface, air is trapped under a decal and the edges silver. You set the final appearance with a final clear coat only after the decals are on.

Who the paint is for

  • Builders of military vehicles and aircraft with camouflage schemes.
  • Diorama makers who need a saturated green for vegetation.
  • Modelers working with enamel paints and an airbrush.

Safety: flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. The vapors irritate the airways — work in a well-ventilated area and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children. Keep the container tightly closed.

FAQ

363 is the darkest and most saturated of this trio. 361 is a lighter olive green, 362 a subdued gray-green. 363 serves as the dark contrast in camouflage schemes.

No. It is a synthetic enamel paint on a solvent base. It is thinned with Revell Color Mix or mineral spirits, not with water.

Satin. For a completely matte appearance, give the model a matte clear coat at the end.

Yes. Thin the paint and spray it with an airbrush at low pressure in several thin coats. Hard scheme edges are made with masking tape or a template.
