Shade number 67 of the Revell Email Color range is a synthetic enamel paint on a solvent base, not an acrylic. It corresponds to the shade RAL 7009 and has a flat finish. It comes in a 14 ml tinlet. It is thinned with Revell Color Mix, or with mineral spirits, never with water. It is applied with a brush and with an airbrush and does not attack the surface of plastic models. Please note that this is a modeling paint, not a kit.
A greenish gray is a dirty tone shifted toward green. Where a purely neutral gray would look cold and plastic, 67 gives a surface a realistic, service-worn cast. That is exactly why modelers reach for it on the cockpits and interiors of aircraft, on camouflage surfaces and on military vehicles, where the gray is meant to be alive rather than laboratory clean.
Gray shades are rewarding for preshading and modulation: spray a darker base along the panel lines and lighten the middle of a panel with a tone raised by a lighter gray. The difference does not have to be great, because it stands out on a model. A flat surface is at the same time the ideal base for decals once it has been coated with gloss varnish.
For modelers of aircraft and vehicles who need a realistic gray shifted toward green, whether for an interior, for camouflage or as a weathering base.
