A shader is a transparent acrylic paint from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez, supplied in a thin consistency ready to spray straight away. It serves to tint an already sprayed surface, to shade and to create gradual transitions of color. It is important to know what it is not: it is not an opaque color, it will not unify the shade of the parts and it will not cover filled seams. Each coat only shifts the tone of what lies underneath, and the depth grows with the number of coats.
For modelers who have mastered the basic spray finish and want to give the surface depth and variety of color without using opaque shades. It comes into its own on aircraft and ground equipment and on figures, wherever a subtle shift of color is needed rather than repainting. For a beginner we recommend practicing airbrush control on a test surface first, because transparent paints forgive uneven passes less readily.
Do not breathe in the aerosol, work in a ventilated area and use respiratory protection. Keep out of the reach of children. Fresh residue can be washed off with water; dried residue cannot.
