An injection-molded plastic kit of the German King Tiger heavy tank with the Henschel type turret in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. This variant depicts the projected form with the heavier gun of 105 mm caliber, the KwK L/65. The package contains injection-molded plastic parts, tracks and a display stand; the exact contents of the set are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The King Tiger, that is the Tiger II, was a German heavy tank of the end of the Second World War with heavy armor and a long gun. Against the early machines the Henschel type turret had simplified contours that made production easier. Fitting the heavier gun of 105 mm caliber remained at the project stage and was never brought into production before the end of the war.
The smaller 1:72 scale puts the emphasis on clean assembly. Glue the parts with cement for plastic. For a faithful appearance an airbrush for the base camouflage and fine washes and pigments for dust effects on the running gear and hull all work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
