This is a set of white metal tracks in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. It is not a model but a detail accessory: the individual metal links are joined with the supplied wire pins into a fully workable run. The metal construction gives the running gear a convincing weight and a natural sag that plastic kit tracks cannot offer.
The Crusader was a British cruiser tank of the Second World War, used above all in the North African desert. It was notable for its speed and low silhouette; the characteristic running gear with its large road wheels is among its most striking features, which metal tracks capture faithfully. The set replaces the tracks supplied in the plastic kit of this tank.
Clean the moldings off the links, assemble them by threading them onto the supplied wire and trim off the excess. White metal holds paint better after a base coat suitable for metal is sprayed on. For service in Africa, strong dust and sand pigments work well; suggest the polished metal areas with graphite.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
