An accessory set for an aircraft model in 1:48 scale with the AGM-88 anti-radiation missile. It replaces less successful armament from the kit or adds to it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AGM-88 is an American anti-radiation missile. Its seeker homes on the emissions of ground air-defense radars, so the operators give away their position with their own radar. It is carried by machines intended for the suppression of air defenses and since the 1980s it has been among the most widespread armament of its kind on Western aircraft. For a model it means a slender body with cruciform fins that immediately gives away, on the pylon, what role the machine was performing.
An accessory armament set in 1:48 scale. Separately manufactured missiles tend to be more accurate in shape and to have finer surface detail than the parts from an ordinary kit, so they suit both replacement and adding to the stores. How many pieces the set contains, what accessories belong with them and which kits it is tuned for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them. They are bonded with super glue or a two-part adhesive. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully, so that you do not cut into the shape of the body. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry, otherwise the coat holds unreliably. A base coat is in order on parts like these. Choose the color finish and the markings according to references for the particular machine and period.
An accessory set is supplied. The model, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
