A detail part in 1:48 scale for a model of the American AH-64 attack helicopter. Designed for building an in-progress model; the manufacturer's instructions state the set's scope.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AH-64 is an American attack helicopter with a tandem cockpit, in which the gunner sits in front and the pilot behind him, seated somewhat higher. Stub wings on the sides of the fuselage carry racks for armament, a movable cannon sits under the forward fuselage, and the main rotor has four blades. On the ground it rests on wheeled landing gear with a tail wheel at the rear. The aircraft is twin-engine and serves mainly to destroy ground targets and armored vehicles.
This is an accessory for a finished kit, not a stand-alone model. The accessory parts are fitted in place of parts from the kit and refine shapes that molded plastic renders too coarsely. The manufacturer's instructions state the set's scope, where each part is fitted, and which kit the set is cut to match; check the fit against your model before building.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, so ordinary plastic modeling cement has no effect on them. Glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue, and roughen the surface beforehand so the glue has something to grip. Cut away excess material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and carefully sand the rest, taking care not to touch the shape of the part itself. Before painting, wash the whole part in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and degrease it, otherwise the paint will not hold well. It helps to lay down a thin base coat first and only then the finish color.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
