A masking set for the markings of the North American XB-70 Valkyrie 1:72 holds self-adhesive stencils that let the national markings and lettering be sprayed in paint instead of applied as decals. It is an accessory to a model, not a kit.

A set of self-adhesive masking stencils meant for spraying the national markings and lettering on a model of the six-engined experimental XB-70 Valkyrie bomber in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor decals: the marking is formed directly in paint, so no carrier film and no visible step stays on the surface and the result takes later varnishing and weathering without trouble.
The North American XB-70 Valkyrie was an American experimental bomber of the first half of the 1960s, designed for long flight at high supersonic speed. It is characterized by the long slender nose with a hinged forward screen, the delta wing with folding tips and the six jet engines housed in a massive nacelle under the wing. Two prototypes reached flight testing; the machine never went into series production.
First smooth the area under the mask perfectly and let the base color cure properly. Transfer the stencil to the model, press the edges down carefully with a wooden toothpick for instance, and cover the surroundings with tape or film so that the mist does not settle outside them. Spray several thin coats: one heavy coat likes to creep under the edge. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dried and pull it at an acute angle to the surface.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
