Cut self-adhesive masks for the cockpit canopy of the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale. Intended for the Brengun kit, the outside of the clear part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The original requirement was clear: a successor to the Hurricane, a high-altitude interceptor. The Napier Sabre engine with twenty-four cylinders arranged in an H promised enormous power, but at first it gave trouble and at greater heights the machine did not excel. The Typhoon found its real career lower down, over the battlefield: four 20 mm cannons and rockets under the wing made it the terror of German columns in Normandy in 1944. Later production examples received a bubble canopy, which markedly improved the view and at the same time changed the silhouette of the cockpit.
The bubble cover has a continuous curve with no sharp breaks, so the greatest risk is the film rippling on the arch. It helps to lay the segment down by its center and only then press it gradually toward the edges, instead of laying it from one edge. The material stretches slightly and adapts. Before the main coat a sealing coat of paint in the shade of the frame is advisable. Take the masks off as soon as the surface goes matte and stops being tacky.
The model of the aircraft and paints are not included in the package; the accessory assumes that the kit is already at home or will be obtained separately.
