Static grass in yellow, fiber length 2 to 3 mm, a 20 g package. The fine fibers are sprinkled into fresh glue, an electrostatic charge stands them up square and the area gains growth that stands and casts a shadow.
Yellow is the color of straw and of grass burned off by the sun. Used on its own it will give rise to a stubble field after harvest, a parched patch by a road or the dry landscape of southern and steppe scenes. Scattered into green growth in a fraction of a dose it works as a highlight and the area stops being one color. A length of 2 to 3 mm corresponds to low grass: in 1:35 scale roughly 7 to 10 cm, in 1:87 scale approximately 17 to 26 cm.
Coat the area with glue for static grass or with thinned PVA glue and stick the grounding pin of the applicator into it. Pour the fibers into the mesh and let them fall from a height of a few centimeters. Once dry, tap the area out or vacuum it carefully and return the fibers that have not stuck to the bag; they will serve again. The intensity can also be reduced by going lightly over a dried yellow layer with a darker glaze. It pays to be sparing with yellow: apply it as a second layer over part of an area, otherwise a scene slips into an unnaturally warm tone.
For builders of dioramas, layouts, gaming boards and figure bases who are building dry landscape or want to lighten finished green growth. The package holds the fibers alone; the glue, an applicator and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
