A masking set in 1:144 scale, cut for the kit of the Boeing 737-8 MAX from the maker Zvezda. It makes a sharp boundary to sprayed areas easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set deals with the work that on an airliner in a small scale takes the most time and most often goes wrong: a sharp boundary to the areas that are to stay free of paint or to receive a different shade. A hand-painted border to the glazing is noticed at once in 1:144 scale, because a moment's hesitation of the hand is enough and the line is of uneven thickness. A mask laid in the right place holds the edge for you and the result is equally clean all the way round.
The set is cut for the kit of the Boeing 737-8 MAX type from the maker Zvezda in 1:144 scale. The shapes therefore correspond to the parts of this kit; on a model of other origin they need not line up. Before sticking a mask on, always offer it up dry and check how it sits on the edge of the part.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface. Lift the individual part with the point of a knife or with tweezers, seat it and press the edge down properly, so that the paint does not run under it; on curved surfaces press the mask down from the center toward the edges. Apply the paint in thin layers and spray perpendicular rather than at an angle under the edge. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off and before it cures completely, carefully and at an angle, so that the finish does not tear. Count on one use.
The set is for builders of airliners in 1:144 scale who want the glazing and the color transitions without correcting with a brush. It is an accessory to a kit; paints, varnishes and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
