An injection-molded plastic kit of the double-deck Airbus A380-800 airliner in the colors of Lufthansa (the new livery), in 1:144 scale from Revell. It is a large model: assembled it measures over half a meter in length. The kit carries detailed landing gear with a great many wheels, four engines and extensive decals with the new company finish and the maintenance stencils.
The Airbus A380 is the largest production airliner in the world, a double-deck wide-body machine that in a normal layout takes around 550 passengers. It is powered by four powerful turbofan engines. Lufthansa counts the A380 among the flagships of its long-haul routes and has operated them in an updated company livery since 2018.
With a large civil airliner, clean gluing and a smooth, seamless surface are the key. Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement, fill the fuselage seams and sand them smooth, because every unevenness shows on a gloss finish. Mask the glazing and the windows, unify the base with a good white primer and lay the paint on with an airbrush. Apply a gloss varnish under the extensive decals so that they settle without silvering; with a large model it also pays to think ahead about how to hold it and display it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
