This 3D-printed resin detail set contains a pair (2 pieces) of rear hull storage baskets of the Merkava Mk.3 tank with realistic damage and workable chains. It is not a model but an accessory that in 1:35 scale replaces the simplified plastic parts with a faithful resin version.

The real subject

The Merkava, Hebrew for chariot, is an Israeli main battle tank with the unusual front placement of the engine, which protects the crew. The external baskets and chain curtains serve to stow equipment and raise resistance to shaped-charge ammunition. The modernized Mk.3 version received a more powerful powerplant, a new turret and modular armor.

Usage tips

Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut away the print supports and sand the cuts with respiratory protection. Make the bond with cyanoacrylate glue. The realistic damage stands out once washes, filters and pigments have been applied.
