Large injection-molded plastic kit of the American B-17F Flying Fortress heavy bomber in 1:48 scale from Revell. The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the most important American bombers of World War II. The B-17F version from 1942 to 1943 served on daylight raids over occupied Europe. The aircraft nicknamed Memphis Belle became famous because its crew was among the first to complete the prescribed number of combat missions over Europe; the aircraft became a star of wartime propaganda and of a later film.
On a large model, plan the sequence in advance: finish the interior and the glazing before closing the fuselage. Glue the joints with thin liquid cement and hold the longer fuselage seams until the cement sets. The extensive metal surfaces call for a smooth base and a metallic finish; a natural metal look comes alive with panel shades. Pay attention to the seating of the clear turrets.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
