Injection-molded plastic kit Revell 1:48 Dornier Do 335 Pfeil: the German fighter with an unusual tandem arrangement of two engines.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Dornier Do 335 Pfeil fighter in 1:48 scale from Revell. The model captures the unmistakable long fuselage with its tandem arrangement of two engines, clear parts for the canopy glazing and decals for period German markings.
The Do 335 was one of the fastest piston-engine fighters of its day. What made it special was the tandem arrangement of the engines: one tractor engine in the nose and a second pusher engine behind the cockpit, driving a propeller at the tail end of the fuselage. This solution gave the performance of a twin-engine aircraft with less aerodynamic drag. The type appeared only at the very end of the war and saw practically no combat success.
Finish and paint the pilot's compartment before closing the fuselage. Mask the canopy glazing. Take care to seat both engines correctly, above all the rear pusher propeller and the cruciform tail. Spray large areas with an airbrush and apply gloss varnish under the decals. Fit the landing gear with its long nose leg at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
