Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Vought F4U-4 Corsair in 1:72 scale by the manufacturer Revell. The model has a detailed cockpit, a rendered radial engine, a movable propeller and a well worked-out landing gear; drop tanks and bombs are usually included as well. The decals allow a period US Navy machine to be built. The kit suits modelers with basic as well as more advanced experience.
The Corsair is one of the best known American fighters of the Second World War and you recognize it by its characteristic inverted gull wing. The F4U-4 version was a late, uprated variant with a new engine and a four-blade propeller. The Corsair served as a carrier and land-based fighter and as a fighter-bomber and earned a high reputation in combat; it was still in service in the Korean War.
Finish and paint the cockpit before the fuselage halves go together. The radial engine comes into its own once the cylinders are picked out with a dry brush. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, mask the glazing and fix it with canopy glue. For the glossy blue naval finish an airbrush and a light base coat work well; the glossy surface also helps the decals. Add a fine wash to the landing gear bays and the gear legs.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
