The O-max set is the most complete package in the range of the Czech manufacturer Omask: unlike an ordinary set of masks it combines two kinds of masking in one package, pre-cut masking templates for the cockpit glazing and shaped plugs for the landing gear bays in flexible EVA foam. The set is prepared for the Polikarpov I-16 type 5 kit in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is not a model and not a kit but an accessory for painting: you get everything the model is masked with before spraying in one package, instead of buying masks and plugs separately.

Use

• Peel the masking templates off the sheet and stick them onto the frames of the glazing; press the edges down carefully so that no paint runs under them.
• Press the foam plugs into the landing gear bays; they need no glue, they hold by their own springiness and do not damage the plastic.
• Spray in thin coats: primer, covering colors, camouflage, clear coat.
• Once dry, peel the masks off the glazing and pull the plugs out of the bays, and the cockpit and the interior of the bays will stay clean.
• With careful handling the plugs can be used again.

Who the set is for

For modelers who build the I-16 type 5 in 1:72 scale from Zvezda and want their complete masking equipment in one purchase. It pays off most in small scales, as the tiny cockpit frames and broken-up landing gear bays can be masked by hand only with a great deal of work. The set will be valued above all by airbrush users, but it makes the work easier for those who paint with a brush or a can as well.

This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. The masks and the plugs are shaped for the kit from the manufacturer named, and may not fit a kit from another brand.
