Injection-molded plastic kit of the first jet fighter in the world to enter operational service, in 1:72 scale. The model captures the A-1a fighter version with its characteristic swept wing leading edge and its pair of engine nacelles. The parts are plastic and the box contains clear glazing and a decal sheet. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Me 262 was a revolutionary German twin-engine jet fighter used at the end of the Second World War. Thanks to its jet propulsion it reached speeds beyond the piston fighters of the day, and in the A-1a fighter version it carried heavy gun armament in the nose. Its layout fundamentally shaped the postwar development of jet aviation.
Pay attention to a clean fit of the engine nacelles and of the wing leading edges. Finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Thin cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush are the way to go for the typical mottled German camouflage; the engraved panel lines can be picked out with a thin water-soluble wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
